GRP STAINS REMOVAL & POLISHING

The gelcoat on the hull of boats becomes chalky and hazy overtime, it is due to the effects of harsh marine conditions. Oxidisation, UV light damage and environmental pollutants makes the hull looking discoloured.
They are 3 stages involved in gelcoat polishing, each of which requires a separate type of product.
We first clean thoroughly the surface to remove all grime, wax, grease etc. Rust marks and mineral leaching out of dirt will require using a chemical to dissolve them so they can be rinsed away.
After we have dried the hull we will be cutting back using a dedicated polishing or rubbing compound.
Finally we will apply a good quality marine wax to protect the exposed new shiny surface.

TEAK DECK
CARE

Our advice is to wash it regularly as you would with any deck with fresh or salt water using only a soft brush.
Once or twice a year it is recommended you clean teak boat decking with a specialist teak deck cleaner.
We use the ECO-300 teak cleaner as it is 100% environmentally friendly, it cleans and brightens teak better than harsh chemical cleaners, restoring its original golden colour.
It is natural for teak to turn a silvery grey colour and for many this is the traditional way to leave teak decks. However some people prefer to keep they teak looking like new and a freshly sanded colour.
There are a number of options for teak deck maintenance:
We recommend a product called Semco
It will protect your decks and any dirt or spillages will simply wash off with a hose. You will find that you won’t have to use a brush to clean your decks and therefore the wear and tear on your teak decks will be considerably less as a result.
Boracol is another great product that we recommend as a treatment against algae and mold growth on teak decks. It might be necessary to treat your deck at the beginning and end of each boating season.
